Screens & Battens – Architectural Feature Systems Overview
Bright Balustrading offers a bespoke range of screening and batten systems designed to function as both architectural features and practical barriers for privacy, shading, and safety. Whether used in apartment façades, stair cores, podium edges, or mixed-use buildings, these systems offer a highly adaptable solution that merges aesthetic detailing with compliant performance.
Available in a wide range of aluminium profiles and frame options, our vertical batten screens and elliptical louvre systems are fabricated to suit site-specific design intent — from minimalist infill panels to fully engineered wind-rated enclosures.
Screening Types Offered
- Vertical Batten Screens
Slender vertical elements installed between structural or fabricated frames, creating rhythm and visual texture while allowing airflow and partial screening. Can serve as standalone privacy screens, stairwell facades, or perimeter treatments. Spacing, depth, and shadow line can be customised to meet privacy or passive surveillance objectives. - Elliptical Louvre Screens
Aerodynamic aluminium louvres shaped in elliptical or aerofoil profiles, designed for sun-shading, façade screening, or as a visual privacy barrier. Can be fixed in position or installed with adjustable brackets to control light and views. Common in balcony enclosures, podium levels, and building façades seeking energy efficiency and ventilation.
Material & Profile Options
All systems are fabricated using architectural-grade aluminium, offering corrosion resistance and lightweight durability, suitable for powder coating in a wide range of colours and finishes.
Profile Options Include:
- Vertical Battens:
- Round, square or rectangular aluminium tubes
- Typically 25mm–100mm profiles
- Spaced to achieve privacy, light control, or fall prevention requirements
- Elliptical Louvres:
- Fixed sections ranging from 50mm to 300mm
- Designed for sun control or decorative screening
Framing Options:
- SHS (Square Hollow Section) – Clean and symmetrical support for vertical batten panels
- RHS (Rectangular Hollow Section) – Suitable for structural spans or elongated framing
- Flatbar or Angle– Used for minimalist edge framing or face-mounted support systems
